Using the converter

Terms

Use images you are allowed to work with, and check the result before sharing it.

Your images and results

You are responsible for having the rights or permission needed to process an image and use the resulting pixel art. Conversion does not remove copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights that may apply to the source image.

The converter processes images locally and makes no ownership claim over the images you choose or the results you download. The licenses of any third-party source images still apply. If you import a palette from another creator, check the source's palette license too.

What the tool provides

The current tool accepts one JPG/JPEG, PNG or WebP up to 20 MiB and 25 million decoded pixels. It provides square pixel grids, Fit or adjustable Crop, palette reduction, optional ordered dithering, and PNG exports at 1×, 2×, 4× or 8×. Custom palettes accept 2–64 distinct colors, with local .hex, .txt or .gpl imports up to 64 KiB. Up to 20 named palettes can be saved in this browser.

It does not automatically remove image backgrounds. Existing transparency and Fit padding are preserved. A conversion deliberately reduces image detail and color, so always preview and check your downloaded result.

Availability and backups

The website and converter are provided as available, without a guarantee of uninterrupted access or suitability for a particular project. Keep your original image and save any output you want to retain. There is no account or server-side image history from which to restore your work.
